We refer to Ms Cai Feng’s letter “Faulty electronic display panel at bus interchange” (22 Feb).

We seek Ms Cai’s understanding that in some instances, there may be discrepancies in arrival timings displayed on the electronic panels at the bus interchanges. This could be due to bus departure timing adjustments that need to be made by the public bus operators at short notice arising from operational demands. 

Nonetheless, LTA is working with the public bus operators to look into how we can ensure that the electronic displays are more accurate.  

Tower Transit Singapore, which manages the Jurong East Bus Interchange, will soon roll out a new system to enable operational adjustments to be updated more quickly to reflect more accurate waiting times.

We thank Ms Cai for her feedback and we will continue to work with operators to provide commuters with more timely information for planning their journeys.
