Increased cycling network and connectivity

Besides expanding the existing cycling network by 16km, the new cycling network will also include a 2.6km walking and cycling corridor along the MRT viaduct between Yio Chu Kang MRT station and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. The cycling path will also be linked to the North-South Corridor as an option for residents who wish to cycle from their home straight to the City.

The cycling paths also provide connectivity to the Thomson-East Coast Line MRT stations in Ang Mo Kio. First and last mile connectivity is further enhance with bicycle parking facilities conveniently located at the MRT stations.

Safer and more comfortable journeys to transport nodes

An elevated walking and cycling bridge will be constructed in tandem with the upcoming Cross Island Line Ang Mo Kio station. As the bridge will bypass the heavy traffic activities, residents will be able to walk and cycle seamlessly and safely to the station.

Project Details

Works for the Ang Mo Kio cycling path network are ongoing and is expected to be completed by 2026.
