LTA is committed to the safety and health of our staff and commuters. During construction of our projects, we aim for zero incidents and no negative health impacts.
To achieve this, we have implemented the Project Safety Review (PSR) certification process for rail and major road projects. The PSR will:
- Formally assess safety before projects begin, and ensure that safety procedures are in place.
- Identify, mitigate and track major civil hazards systemically throughout the project cycle.
- Reduce and/or remove the impact of construction activities on nearby structures/utilities and future maintenance activities. The PSR process mirrors MOM’s Design for Safety Regulations.
All LTA contractors must comply with legal requirements, as well as the LTA Safety, Health and Environment Specifications. The LTA Safety, Health and Environment Management System (SHEMS) sets a standard that is consistent with the best international practices for the management of construction projects:
- That safeguards staff, contractor, and the public and;
- Environmental protection measures and sustainability are included in strategic decisions.
