Beverley Goh Shi-Wyn
Engineer, Communications
“LTA encourages close collaboration across multiple divisions to facilitate a more holistic understanding of large-scale rail projects, as opposed to an insular view from working in silos. These regular interactions also enabled me to forge closer friendships with people beyond my own division. LTA fosters a close knit and supportive community of scholars through myriad engagement events, providing ample avenues for us to both enjoy and contribute back. It has been nothing short of enriching to be a part of this evolving public transport landscape.”
Muhamad Zaki Bin Hamzah Lee
Manager, Systems Assurance
"Working on diverse projects in LTA has trained me to sharpen my problem-solving skills. Through job rotations, I have been given the opportunity to contribute directly in all phases of railway systems’ life cycles. This ranges from assessing system reliability during design to securing maintenance support for operation. This has equipped me with multiple lenses through which to analyse any issue. It is empowering to understand how different efforts fit together to sustain the reliability of our rail network."
Luo Siyun
Senior Manager, Street Design & Infrastructure Technology
“I truly appreciate what I'd learnt during my LTA attachment in my undergraduate days. The assignments were challenging and provided me with a better understanding of the work in LTA. After joining LTA, I have benefitted from the opportunity to rotate across divisions and be involved in projects outside of civil engineering. I attended an overseas course in Korea on its railway policy and safety systems. It was enlightening and eye-opening to work with people from other disciplines. More importantly, we took what we learnt to create better journeys for commuters in Singapore. That was very gratifying."
These scholarships are open to Singapore citizens, or Singapore Permanent Residents who take up Singapore citizenship before departing for their studies.
All scholars will be required to serve a bond with LTA – the length is dependent on the type of scholarship received. All scholars will also undergo on-the-job training and mentorship under an 8-week attachment.
This scholarship is for those who are keen to pursue not only engineering, but also non-engineering subjects. You will be able to pursue your undergraduate studies in either a local or overseas university.
