Rail Network

This is the rail life

System Map
Today, more than 140 stations across six MRT lines span the island. This 200km system has over three million daily ridership. In addition, there are more than 40 stations across two LRT lines and this 28km system has over 200 thousand daily ridership. More networks  are being built to further expand rail coverage.

The train system is currently run by two public transport operators – SMRT Corporation Ltd (SMRT) and SBS Transit (SBST).

  • SMRT operates the North-South Line, East-West Line, Circle Line, Thomson-East Coast Line and the Bukit Panjang LRT.
  • SBS operates the North East Line and the Downtown Line, and the Sengkang-Punggol LRT.

Plan your journey by using LTA's journey planner or transport tools.

No Train Service between Tanah Merah and Tampines stations (East-West Line) from 7-10 Dec 2024

Simei station will be closed from 7 to 10 December 2024 to facilitate works for a new connection to East Coast Integrated Depot. There will be no train service on the East-West Line between Tanah Merah and Tampines stations. To minimise the impact of these service adjustments, alternative travel options will be available to serve affected commuters.

Commuters are encouraged to plan your journeys in advance to factor in additional travelling time.

Shuttle trains will operate at the following intervals for commuters travelling between:

  1. Tampines and Pasir Ris stations – every 5 minutes
  2. Tanah Merah and Expo stations – every 8 minutes
  3. Expo and Changi Airport stations – every 11 minutes
