          LTA invites commuters to a special public preview event “Journey through Colours of the East” on 21 June 2024 from 12.00pm to 9.00pm, to familiarise themselves with the seven new Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 4 (TEL4) stations before they open for passenger service on 23 June.

Activities at TEL4 Public Preview

2.         Commuters can enjoy free train rides along the TEL4 stretch during the public preview, and participate in various activities:

a)    Explore the unique station artwork, architecture and features, civil defence shelters and interesting landmarks;
b)    Take part in an exclusive digital game, “TEL4 MRT Mysteries: The Treasure Hunt Express” to win attractive prizes;
c)     Ace a quiz to win TEL4-inspired Klook experiences (TEL4: Treat 4 The Senses);
d)    Visit the “Reasons to Move Lite” Gallery Exhibition at Marine Parade station to view the unique visuals depicting Singaporeans’ reasons to Move Lite;
e)    Meet our lovely Thoughtful Bunch characters; and
f)      Participate in activities and visit booths to learn more about our Caring SG Commuters movement, Friends of Land Transport (FOLT), Graciousness Campaign, Public Transport Security and SCDF.

‘Reasons to Move Lite’ Exhibition

3.        A highlight of the public preview is the ‘Reasons to Move Lite’ gallery exhibition at Marine Parade station. The exhibition aims to inspire everyone to adopt more sustainable modes of transport for a better and greener tomorrow. Located at the concourse level, the public can view 24 uniquely designed visuals showcasing Singaporeans’ reasons to move lite, such as being eco-friendly, having more family time, and enjoying scenic views along the journey. Visitors can also take part in other exciting booth activities, share their reasons to move lite and see their reasons displayed as creative art pieces within our public transport nodes.

Launch of New Knackstop Merchandise

4.        Be the first few to get your hands on exclusive Knackstop merchandise specially-curated to mark TEL4’s opening. Visit the Knackstop pop-up store at Marine Parade station for promotions available only on 21 June.

Getting to TEL4 Stations

5.        Commuters can get to the TEL4 stations during the public preview on 21 June in several ways:

By Train
(i)     Via Thomson-East Coast Line
Take the free shuttle train service from TEL Gardens by the Bay station to Tanjong Rhu station. Shuttle trains will run at a frequency of about 8 mins.[1] Note that there will be no through-train connectivity between the existing TEL line and TEL4 on the preview day. Please refer to Annex B for details.

(ii)     Via Circle Line
Alight at Circle Line (CCL) Stadium MRT station and walk 10-to-15-minutes (~600m) to TEL Tanjong Rhu station via Tanjong Rhu footbridge.

By Bus
Commuters can take public bus services that stop near or outside TEL4 stations, including bus services 11, 30, and 158. For detailed bus routes, please refer to Annex C.

Train Frequency from 23 June

6.        From 23 June, trains from Woodlands North to Bayshore station will arrive at frequencies of three minutes during peak hours and six minutes during off-peak hours. LTA and SMRT will continue to monitor the train loading and make necessary adjustments based on operational needs. Commuters can refer to LTA’s MyTransport.SG mobile app for information on first and last train timings and estimated travel time.

[1] In the event of large crowds, commuters may experience slightly longer wait times in between shuttle trains.
